MUSIC AND COMEDY NIGHT IN JANUARY

We're celebrating our 5th Anniversary with a unique night of music and comedy on Wednesday 16th January at The Borderline, Orange Yard. Special guests include singer/songwriter Daniel Rachel; critically acclaimed female blues singer Willis; ‘comic genius’ Terry Alderton and our favourite comedian and regular supporter MC Kevin Day. Daniel Rachel will be performing his debut London headline with the release of his Tender backed single 'Let It Be Mine'.

We would love to see you there and are always grateful for any contribution towards raising awareness of domestic abuse. Our 5th Anniversary celebration just wouldn’t be the same without you. We would also like to take the opportunity to thank you for your continuing support for Tender.

Help us bring domestic violence onto the public agenda!

Daniel Rachel: ‘...there is power here, no little insight, and some very fine songs, too' (MOJO)

Willis: ‘haunting’ and ‘intoxicating’ (The Guardian)

Terry Alderton: ‘…a fantastic comedy mind’ (Eddie Izzard)

Kevin Day: ‘…very classy comedy.’ (Chortle, UK comedy guide)

November - December 2007

BEHIND THE SEEN' PHOTOGRAPHIC EXHIBITION

A group of young Londoners will present a series of anti-violence images at City Hall from the 26th November until the 11th December. The exhibition explores young people's responses to issues surrounding domestic and sexual abuse. 'Behind the Seen' was created as part of a 4-week collaboration delivered by Tender, through the TRUST programme, and London Bubble Theatre Company. The project invited young people to work in their own time, after school, to address how violent relationships are allowed to happen. The outcome of their work is an original exhibition to promote healthy relationships based on equality and respect and to mark the international 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence.

TRUST PERFORMANCES BY YOUNG PEOPLE

Young people will be presenting their end of end-of-project performances about healthy and unhealthy relationships in boroughs across Greater London over the next 6 weeks. Tender has worked with 14 groups of young people through the TRUST project this term, a project that works in secondary schools and youth centres for the prevention of domestic abuse and sexual violence. This Autumn, young people have been actively involved in the boroughs of Barnet, Bromley, Camden, Croydon, Ealing, Harrow, Hillingdon, Kensington & Chelsea, Southwark and Waltham Forest.

If you would like more information about TRUST and the upcoming performances, please contact Susie McDonald, Education Manger, at susie@tender.org.uk

THANKS TO UNDERBLING & VOW

A big thank you goes out to the entire cast of Underbling & Vow's cabaret, who played to a sell-out crowd in support of Tender in Hoxton Hall in October. A grand cockney knees-up was had by all!
